Tri Bubny: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Gothic cemetery church of St. George overlooks the surrounding area from Tři Bubny Hill, at an elevation of 302 m above sea level. It was first mentioned in historical records in 1349.

History

The fortifications of Tři Bubny were built in 1778 to defend the settlement and the church on the hill against Prussian troops. The surviving eastern part of the fortifications of Tři Bubny was declared a natural and historical monument in 1923.

The name Tři Bubny also bears a historical trace: it originally referred to an inn and is recorded on Müller’s map of the Kingdom of Bohemia from 1720. Tři Bubny is also listed as a significant archaeological site in category ÚAN I.

A partially preserved bastion remnant of the field fortification near Tři Bubny lies approximately 500 m south-southwest of St. George’s Church. It is located west of road III/3583 to Orel and is completely hidden by dense vegetation. The road was later called the “French Road” because Russian and French troops travelled along it during the Napoleonic Wars.

Landscape

Tři Bubny Hill rises on the northern side of the municipality. The settlement of Tři Bubny offers an impressive view of the Železné hory.

Cycling Routes

Two marked cycling routes pass through Tři Bubny: cycle route 4177 runs between Kočí and Orel, while cycle route 4181 runs between Libanice and Vlčnov.
