Moravany: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Zámecký areál Moravany castle grounds are a late Baroque manor complex from the late 18th century with a small, villa-like residential château.

Culture and History

The historic long-distance route Trstenická stezka passed through Moravany on a route from Prague to Trstenice and onward to Moravia. The Church of St Peter and Paul is also one of the town's historic buildings: the late Baroque structure, surrounded by a cemetery, dates from 1782 and was designed by T. Haffenecker. In the wider regional vicinity of Moravany is Svatý Jiří, which is considered a church.

Water and Sport

Duhové jezero is a former sand quarry with an adjacent sports complex. The area around the lake offers opportunities for summer and winter sports. Swimming is also possible at the Duhové jezero recreational area.

Landscape

The elevations Na Kopci [Dolní Roveň], Hlaváč [Dašice-Prachovice], Jandák [Moravany-Čeradice nad Loučnou] and Na vrchách are located in the immediate vicinity of Moravany; they are considered hills.

Geographical Location

Moravany lies at the intersection of the Prague–Česká Třebová and Chrudim–Borohrádek railway lines. Near the Moravany municipal office, a memorial plaque indicates the course of the 50th parallel.
