Krasíkov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Krasíkov combines traces of sacred architecture and remembrance with a distinctive river course and an unusual railway history. Between chapels, former monastery buildings, hiking trails and tunnels, a multifaceted picture of the place emerges.

Culture and History

Only parts of the enclosing walls of the church building that rise above ground level have survived from the Augustinian monastery. The presbytery, cloister and other buildings of the monastery complex have probably survived as archaeological remains.

In the centre of Krasíkov, on road II/368, which leads from Štíty to Moravská Třebová, stands the Baroque Chapel of the Guardian Angels, built in 1725. In front of the chapel is a statue of Saint Florian made of Maletín sandstone. Its pedestal bears a note stating that it was commissioned in 1828 by Johann Habiger from house number 57.

The ensemble of the Most Holy Trinity stands on the Sázava between a concrete bridge and a power station near house number 75. Its sandstone pedestal bears the year 1803. At house number 122 in Krasíkov there is also a desecrated Classicist chapel; the sandstone lintel above its door bears the year 1814.

River and Trails

The bed of the Moravská Sázava forms a large S in Krasíkov. An 8.9 km hiking route begins and ends at Krasíkov railway station and leads to Koruna Panny Marie, across footbridges over the Moravská Sázava, into the area above the Krasíkovský Tunnel and to the village chapel.

The hiking route crosses the Moravská Sázava on footbridges and follows the former railway corridor towards the old Tatenický Tunnel. When water levels are suitable, the Moravská Sázava is frequently used by canoeists.

Railway and Tunnels

Krasíkov has the last railway station and tunnel in the Czech section of the main railway line. Near Krasíkov, trains heading towards Olomouc enter a 1,098-metre-long railway tunnel.
