Bystré U Poličky: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Bystré combines an impressive ecclesiastical history with Baroque local history and nature trails. The Church of Saint John the Baptist and Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Bystré is considered the oldest pilgrimage church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in the Czech Republic.

Culture

The present-day appearance of the Church of Saint John the Baptist and Our Lady of Mount Carmel dates back to 1726. Inside, the altar and all the sculptures are made of wood, although they look as if they were made of stone. On the square in front of the church stands the Baroque statue of Our Lady of Sorrows by J. Pacák, dating from 1725.

Other Baroque buildings include Bystré Town Hall, which was built between 1716 and 1719. Bystré Château was built between 1586 and 1590.

History and Crafts

The Bysterské Mini-Museum “Brtounova chalupa” is located in house no. 137, which dates back to 1723. At the shoemaking mini-museum in the so-called Brtounova chalupa, visitors can learn about the work of a shoemaker from the ground up. Guided tours of the Bysterské Mini-Museum “Brtounova chalupa” and the Church of Saint John the Baptist are available on request.

Nature

The Velký městský okruh trail leads into nature and connects significant landscape features, chapels, and smaller ecclesiastical buildings. It begins at the Church of Saint John the Baptist and follows a hiking trail towards Panský les.

The mountains of Kočíko and Librův Kopec are located in the vicinity of Bystré. Drašarov Hill lies near Bystré, while Babylon Hill is located in the wider regional surroundings of Bystré.
