Čankovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
The archaeological finds from Čankovice are dated to approximately the 1st millennium BC and attributed to the Silesian-Platěnice culture.
Culture and History
Čankovice is mentioned under the name “Marquardus de Czankowicz” in a Latin document from 1293. The well-known sugar factory, which has since been demolished, is often associated with Hrochův Týnec, but was actually located in the cadastral area of Čankovice.
The Chapel of the Transfiguration is located in Čankovice and in the Čankovice cadastral area; it belongs to the Roman Catholic parish of Hrochův Týnec. It was probably built around 1822.
During the midday Maundy Thursday procession in Čankovice, the “Vrkači” first circle the chapel on the village square three times and then proceed along a designated route through the village.
