Hraničné Petrovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Hraničné Petrovice is located in the Jívovská vrchovina in the southwestern Nízký Jeseník at an altitude of around 580 metres. The hilly landscape is characterised by broadly rounded watersheds and deeply incised stream valleys.

Landscape and Nature

The municipal area of Hraničné Petrovice is part of the Údolí Bystřice Nature Park. The area is characterised by agriculture and forestry: predominantly coniferous forests alternate with fields, meadows and pastures where cattle are kept extensively.

The Domašovské louky important landscape feature extends into the municipal area. It consists of wet foothill meadows with protected and endangered plant species. Legally protected bird species also occur in the Hraničné Petrovice area, including the black stork, stock dove, sparrowhawk, montagu's harrier, goshawk, raven and eagle owl.

Hiking Trails

A blue-marked hiking trail leads through the centre of Hraničné Petrovice and connects Domašov nad Bystřicí with Huzová. A green-marked hiking trail runs along the western edge of the village between Šternberk and Svatý Kopeček.

Culture

The Church of Saints Peter and Paul stands at the highest point of Hraničné Petrovice, at an altitude of 590 metres, on the road between Šternberk and Domašov nad Bystřicí. The single-nave building has a five-sided presbytery and a 40 metre-high tower on the west side.

The Pietà group, created in 1870, stands on the old road towards the former village of Hraničné. It bears the German devotional inscription “Schmerzens Mutter bitt für uns”. Along a field path leading from the village past the Pietà erected in 1870, the more than 250 metre-long Petrovická aleja also extends. The avenue was planted on 23 April 2016 exclusively with native and traditional woody plants.
