Služovice becomes tangible through its specific natural, event-related, and historical features. Forests, a stream landscape, traditional festivals, and historical landmarks come together to create a diverse local character.
Nature
The “Stezka v lese u Služovic” nature trail is freely accessible and safe and includes ten stations in the forest. The Bílá voda stream flows through Služovice. There is a small pond on this stream in the centre. The Hněvošický háj nature reserve is also located near the northern edge of the village.
Local Life
More than 50 events focused on community life take place annually in Služovice. Gulášfest is one of the major local events. Služovický odpust is a traditional event held in June, while Vrbecký odpust is a traditional event held in July. Mastné huby is also a traditional event held in June.
History and Culture
The Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary has been a new landmark of Služovice since 1997. A local tavern was visited in 1820 by the Russian Tsar Alexander I on his journey from Moscow to the Opava Diet. In Vrbka, a district of Služovice, the Chapel of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary is listed as a visitor attraction. Služovice and Vrbka are mentioned for the first time in 1349.
