Heřmánky is home to the late Baroque Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary, featuring folk-style furnishings dating from 1783.

Culture and History

The first written record of Heřmánky dates from 1362. The former Fojtství complex in Heřmánky dates from the last third of the 18th century. As a cultural monument, it features a medieval vaulted cellar and is considered a high-quality example of how Neoclassical architectural elements were incorporated into vernacular architecture. The complex has preserved a high degree of authenticity and is one of the few surviving buildings of this type, function, and age in the Moravian-Silesian Region.

The grounds of the former Fojtství are home to the notable Tomčíkův tis yew tree, whose trunk circumference is 240 cm. The still-used cemetery around the church has a well-maintained gate and cemetery wall. The remaining German tombstones have been relocated to a lapidarium in the rear part of the cemetery.

Archaeological finds at Švédská skála attest to the existence of a hillfort.
