The educational trail in the Chuchelenský Forest forms a 6 km circular route. It begins and ends in Borová, a district of Bolatice, and is equipped with information panels about animals, plants and trees. Several rest areas are located along the route; the Zbojnička stream rises at one of them. The dry flood retention basins in Bolatice also shape the landscape as significant landscape features. Their technical design, integration into the landscape, and existing fauna and flora are of particular interest. Another route through the town is the 29 km-long cycle route 554 Prajzská cesta, which runs from Kravaře to Šilheřovice and passes through Bolatice.

History

The first written mention of Bolatice dates from 1250. It appears in a letter issued by Pope Innocent IV in Lyon on 18 December 1250, through which the area was transferred to the Cistercian monastery in Velehrad. A later testimony to the town's history is the Church of Saint Stanislaus in Bolatice: it was built in 1703 and expanded to its present form in 1911–1912.

The parish church of Saint Stanislaus also houses relics of Saint Stanislaus. They were donated to the church from Kraków in 2024 and are kept in a reliquary in the left aisle. The Odpust, the patronal feast of the parish church of Saint Stanislaus, is part of the ecclesiastical calendar. It is celebrated every year on the Sunday after the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ.

Traditions

At the Skanzen lidových tradic a řemesel open-air museum in Bolatice, the exhibition is housed in one of the few surviving traditional village buildings from the 19th and early 20th centuries. The archaeological section of the experimental archaeology exhibition presents artefact finds from Bolatice. In the experimental section, visitors learn how people lived in prehistoric times and what they needed to survive. The exhibition contains no replicas; its contents were developed experimentally.

The tour of the open-air museum includes traditional living quarters, a washhouse, a horse stable, a cowshed and a granary. Visitors can also view craft tools, agricultural machinery and household appliances there. Another cultural attraction is the Muzeum souvků, where meetings are held twice a year, in April and September.

Leisure

The outdoor swimming pool and sports leisure complex in Bolatice includes several pools with clearly specified dimensions: the large pool measures 30 × 25 m, the non-swimmer pool 15 × 25 m and the children's paddling pool 5 × 10 m. The facilities on offer include beach volleyball, pétanque and table tennis; bicycles can also be rented.

Another form of educational experience is provided by the permanent exhibition of glacial erratics in Bolatice. It is visited by the general public and schools. Together with the historic buildings, religious heritage, paths through the Chuchelenský Forest and dry flood retention basins, it creates a diverse picture of the town, where nature observation, regional history, crafts and leisure activities coexist.
