The Loužnické lavičky are maintained in Loužnice as places to rest, go on excursions, and enjoy beautiful views of the countryside. The overview lists eight points: U Modřínu, U Posrané hrobky, U Zvoničky, U Chaty, U Velkého vršku, U Albíny, Na koupališti, and Na Vyhlídce.
During the summer months, it is possible to swim at your own risk in Loužnice's fire-water reservoir. The reservoir is fed by the Plchovský potok, which flows through a protected area.
Geographical Location
The Kopaňský potok flows through the entire Loužnice valley and divides the municipality into two parts. State Road No. 10/E65 from Prague to Harrachov runs along the Kopaňský potok.
At the northern edge of Loužnice stands Mill No. 1 on the Kopaňský potok, a left tributary of the Žernovník. The route of the millrace and its banks are clearly visible in the terrain.
History
The history of Loužnice is also connected with the production of glass and costume jewellery. In 1894, there were several costume-jewellery production businesses; among them was the Link family factory, where glass rods were processed into beads. Shortly before the First World War, bead pressing was introduced at the furnaces in Loužnice.
There was a glass-ring grinding workshop in Kopani, locally known as Bengle.
Culture
The Sokolovna Cultural Centre in Loužnice has existed since 1963. Its rooms are suitable for cultural events, dances, discos, theatre and film screenings, lectures, exhibitions, sporting events, and gymnastics classes. The municipal library is regularly housed in the Sokolovna Cultural Centre in Loužnice.
The bell tower in Loužnice was rebuilt and renovated. On 28 September 2014, it was consecrated together with a statue of Saint Wenceslas carved from the fallen lime tree. The small sacred complex is considered the municipality's only sacred building.
The Loužnický Betlém nativity scene has been made by Bedřich Rathouský since 2017.
