Levínská Olešnice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Levínská Olešnice lies in a long, narrow valley on both sides of the Oleška stream. To the north, the valley is bounded by the hills of Hradiště and Zakopanice, and to the south by the Staropacké hory mountains. Hrad Levín was situated in this landscape on a wooded rocky spur of the Staropacké hory ridge.

History and culture

The Church of All Saints has been mentioned since the 14th century and was enlarged in 1833. It includes an ensemble of twelve statues, a statue of the Holy Trinity and a cross. The sculptures in Levínská Olešnice are listed cultural monuments of the municipality.

The sandstone group of the Holy Trinity was created by Josef Kuhn in 1890. Its pedestal is elaborately designed in the Neo style, and the group also bears an engraved inscription dating from 1896. It stands in the centre of Levínská Olešnice, on the left side of the road towards Vrchovina.

In the southwestern part of Levínská Olešnice, the remains of a fortified site can be found east of the railway bridge over the road to Levín. Hrad Levín is believed to have been founded around the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries and may have been established by a member of the Načeratici family.

Hiking and orienteering

A red-marked hiking trail leads to Hrad Levín. At the restored Hradiště Levín, there is an information board and simple seating at a fire pit. The excursion from Nová Paka to Levín is an easy, 13-kilometre tour focusing on geology and history.

The Levínská Olešnice railway stop is located about 200 metres from the village centre. Near the railway stop, there is a signpost for tourist trails, from which you can reach nearby Hrad Levín or the Oleška valley.
