Dolni Stepanice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

History emerges in different forms in Dolní Štěpanice. The ruins of Štěpanice Castle are located on a spur above the confluence of the Cedron stream and an unnamed tributary. A western outer wall and a bastion-like tower are well preserved among the ruins.

Culture

The local history of crafts and technology is also part of the character of the place: wooden skis were produced at the sawmill in Dolní Štěpanice in 1892. Another special feature is the Krakonošovo Museum of Motorcycles in Dolní Štěpanice. It presents an exhibition about the Czechoslovak Six-Day Motorcycle Trial and includes around 50 Jawa-ČZ exhibits, focusing on competition machines.

Landscape

The starting point in Dolní Štěpanice is located at the confluence of the Jizera and the Cedron. Several routes connect to the village: a marked trail starts at the crossroads in Dolní Štěpanice and leads to Špindlerův Mlýn. A hiking trail initially passes through the Borový Forest and later follows a field path with views of Štěpanice. In addition, a green-marked hiking trail begins in Dolní Štěpanice and continues to Horní Štěpanice and Špindlerův Mlýn.

Routes

One route connects Benecko with Dolní Štěpanice via the Kotelská lookout point, Horní Štěpanice, the Chapel of the Virgin Mary with a spring, and Štěpanice Castle. Another route description includes the return journey by bus from Dolní Štěpanice to Benecko.
