Morcinov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
The Golden Trail runs through Morcínov as part of a network of trails in the Bohemian Paradise. This network has been established as a single route since the late 1930s by connecting existing trails and introducing uniform markings.
Nature and Geology
The Ředice u Morcinova geological site is registered as a site of geological interest and is part of the Bohemian Paradise National Geopark. It features weathered amygdaloid andesitoid as well as chalcedony, bluish agate, quartz druses and analcime, and is located southwest of Lomnice nad Popelkou.
The Kozlov castle ruins are part of the Cidlinský hřeben Nature Monument. It protects a forest complex stretching from Peklovsi to Paseky, with significant herbaceous undergrowth and the largest population of wood ants in the Podkrkonoší region. In the wider surrounding area, a walk across the Ředice Plateau offers views over northern Bohemia, including the Bohemian Paradise, the Jizera Mountains and the Krkonoše Mountains.
Hiking Trails and Viewpoints
The Smetana Viewpoint is located between Rváčov and Morcinov. The 26.5 km section of the Golden Trail of the Bohemian Paradise leads from Kozákov via Morcínov and Košov to Jičín.
On the Cidlina–Kozlov–Lomnice route, the trail passes through Morcínov, with further hiking trails descending towards Lomnice nad Popelkou, and joins the red-marked Zlatá stezka Českého ráje. An approximately one-hour walk starts in Košov; from there, a trail marked in yellow, blue and green leads uphill, while the Morcinov holiday settlement lies in a small valley below.
Excursions and Marked Routes
On the Tábor excursion, green markings initially lead from Lomnice nad Popelkou to Popelka, followed by red markings through Morcinov and Košov to Tábor. The excursion leads from Lomnice nad Popelkou via Popelka, Morcinov and Košov to Vrch Tábor and then back to Lomnice nad Popelkou. From the lookout tower, the route follows red markings back to Lomnice nad Popelkou.
The Košov–Kozlov–Morcínov–Cidlina Spring circular trail is 8 km long. Between Košov and Morcinov in the Český ráj, there is also a little-known six-hole golf course.
