Chotyně: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The settlement of Grabštejn, which belongs to Chotyně, is home to the state-owned Grabštejn Castle and château, dating from the 13th century.

Culture and history

In Grabstejn, the Chapel of Saint Barbara is a unique space from a historical and artistic perspective. A separate guided tour is offered for it at Grabstejn.

The Veterinary Museum in Grabstejn displays field veterinary kits from the equipment of the German, Soviet and Czechoslovak armies, dating from the First World War to the 1950s. The museum can only be visited as part of a guided tour.

Visits and activities

During the castle's usual visiting hours, it is possible to climb the tower of Grabstejn Castle without a guide. From there, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes of the Czech Republic, Germany and Poland.

The Oder–Neisse Cycle Route passes through Chotyně at the bridge over the Lusatian Neisse. The Václavice Reservoir lies on the outskirts of Chotyně and is suitable for fishing.

Geographical location

Sedlecký Špičák is a mountain in the vicinity of Chotyně. The mountains Rozsocha, Jonsberg and Kančí vrch are also located around Chotyně.

Chotyně has train and bus connections to Hrádek nad Nisou and Liberec. The Kraftwerk Hagenwerder ruin is located in the wider regional surroundings of Chotyně. Kaple Nejsvětější Trojice, a church, is also located in the wider regional surroundings.

Quaiserův kříž stands in the enclosed garden of a residential house and is not accessible.
