Trails and views
The Cibulka observation tower is freely accessible all year round. From there, the view extends in all directions; sights include the town of Oloví, the ridges of the Ore Mountains, the Sokolov Basin, the Slavkov Forest, and Smrčiny with Zelená hora. A marked route from the Church of the Holy Archangel Michael in Oloví to the Cibulka observation tower is approximately 2.3 km long and initially follows blue markings, then yellow markings.
Culture and history
The Church of the Holy Archangel Michael is a Neo-Gothic building. It was built between 1901 and 1902 by the builder Emil Litka from Sokolov and is listed as an architectural monument. The church contains a rare Gothic statue of the Madonna dating from the 15th century.
The Chapel of Saint Joseph dates from around 1550 and commemorates the former mining industry in Oloví. After reconstruction began in 2004, it was rebuilt from the remaining foundation walls. The Chapel of the Most Holy Trinity is an artificial grotto built from slag from the former Rotava ironworks. It served as a small pilgrimage destination for Oloví, Libnov, Dolina, Krajková, and Hřebeny.
The St. Anna hereditary adit drained large parts of the summit areas of Eisenberg and Röflerberg.
Geology
At the “Geologické metamorfózy” station, blue-grey galena crystals are described, which are rarely found embedded in whitish-grey quartz. The station explains how miners followed ore veins from the valley and drove adits with a slight gradient so that water could drain away.
Cycling
The marked circular route “Okolo Oloví” is 16.4 km long and moderately difficult. On the way back to Oloví railway station, the circular route follows a cycle route.
