Königswerth: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Königswerth offers a glimpse into a long architectural history: the existence of the Church of St. Kunhuta is documented as early as 1240. Its Baroque reconstruction preserved rare Romanesque-Gothic elements from the church’s earliest architectural history.

Culture

The Seebohm Villa also reflects the region’s industrial history: it was built by the Britannia mining company in 1909 and 1910. The farmyard of Statek Bernard was built in the traditional Cheb half-timbered style and is located near the disused Bernard mine. The reconstruction of Statek Bernard in 2005 and 2006 made it possible to establish a centre for traditional crafts. Statek Bernard is situated amid a landscape shaped by open-pit mines and lignite.

Crafts and events

At the SVITSOL gallery and workshop in Královské Poříčí, scented candles are made and decorated by hand. At the Statek in Královské Poříčí, SVITSOL offers practical courses on making your own candles and soaps for families, schools, company teams and tourists. The 14th Poříčská pouť was announced for 13 September 2025 at the Statek in Královské Poříčí. The 2025-announced Poříčská pouť was planned to feature children’s carousels, the Divadlo Z bedny theatre, craft workshops and other attractions.

Trails

The Královské Poříčí educational trail presents the history, present-day character and sights of the town, as well as the region’s mining past. It is considered an easy circular route of approximately 3.5 km, with 14 stops and information boards.

Cycling and water

Statek Bernard is located approximately 1 km from the Ohře Cycle Route. Cyklostezka Ohře 2 is a flat, easy, 19-km asphalt route from Kynšperk railway station to Královské Poříčí railway station. From the campsite in Královské Poříčí, an easy, full-day paddling trip leads to Loket; Loket is reached after 6 km. The trip is also suitable for beginners and families with children.
