Franzensbad: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Františkovy Lázně is one of the eleven spa towns in the serial UNESCO World Heritage Site “The Great Spa Towns of Europe”. The combination of spa town history, architecture, springs and extensive green spaces characterizes the town.

Culture and History

The current exhibition at the Městské muzeum Františkovy Lázně documents the history of the spa town from the discovery of the Františkův pramen spring through to the 20th century. The exhibition also covers the local architecture and the development of balneological methods. On display are historical views of the spa town, a wooden supply pipe for the Františkův pramen spring from the mid-18th century, and the original statue “František” by Adolf Mayerl from 1923.

The Divadlo Boženy Němcové offers an extensive programme of plays, operettas and concerts. Guest ensembles and a local amateur theatre ensemble also perform there regularly.

The Church of St. Michael in Bad Brambach is located in the vicinity of Františkovy Lázně. The Center of Europe monument is located in the wider regional surroundings of the town.

Nature

The parks of Františkovy Lázně now cover more than 250 hectares. Dozens of kilometres of park paths run through the grounds and are suitable for walks in the spa town.

The orange Srdíčková Route is 2.2 km long and passes the colonnades of the Solná spring and the Luční spring.

The Soos National Nature Reserve in the immediate vicinity of Františkovy Lázně offers a 1.2 km educational trail through peatlands and wetlands, as well as across the bed of a former lake with mineral water.

Komorní Hůrka hill is located in the immediate vicinity of Františkovy Lázně; Zlatý vrch hill is also in this immediate vicinity. Mount Heidelberg is located in the wider regional surroundings of the town, as is Mount Brunnenberg.
