History and Culture

At the Žírovice burial ground, the stone enclosure ring of a burial mound has been preserved in situ. Excavations at the Bronze Age burial ground of Žírovice in 1957 and 1958 uncovered several dozen cremation graves belonging to the Urnfield culture. An information board provides information about the Žírovice burial ground.

Hiking and Landscape

A red-marked hiking trail runs through Žírovice, connecting Cheb, Františkovy Lázně, and the SOOS National Nature Reserve. The marked circular hike “Okolo Františkových Lázní” also passes through Žírovice and is 17.1 km long. Its return route leads through the valley of the Stodolský potok to Antonínova Výšina.

The Bad Brambach Church of St. Michael is located in the surroundings of Žírovice. The hill Mlýnský vrch [Františkovy Lázně-Žírovice] is located nearby. In the wider regional surroundings are the mountains Brunnenberg, Galgenberg, and Hinterer Kegelberg.
