Záhuby: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Záhuby can be explored through its rural local history and the natural features of Křižánky. The Křižánky nature monument covers 48.34 hectares and lies at an altitude of 290 to 345 metres above sea level. More than 98 percent of the nature monument is covered by forest; its most valuable area is a wet forest meadow. The forest wetlands of Křižánky retain water when there is excess water and release it again when water is scarce. In spring, thousands of snowdrops bloom there. The wetlands are home to alpine newts, common frogs and grass snakes. The protected area of Křižánky also includes the source area of the Záhubka stream.

Villagescape and History

Záhuby was founded in the valley of the Záhubka stream. The villagescape is characterised by loosely arranged buildings with rural farmsteads and cottages, and the historic village centre is among the cultural and historical assets of the locality. Today's road III/27942 runs through the area of Záhuby along the right bank of the Záhubka stream.

Historical Traces

Záhuby is home to a memorial to the victims of the First World War and a monument commemorating the 300th anniversary of the municipality. In the vicinity of Záhuby, the historic site of Křižánky preserves trapezoidal ramparts and traces of sunken structures.
