Úlibice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Úlibice combines ecclesiastical history with a protected landscape area and distinctive historical landmarks on the northern edge of the village. The surrounding area also has a clear character: several mountains are located there, while two churches stand in the wider regional surroundings.

Culture and History

The present-day Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary was built between 1712 and 1716. However, it had already been mentioned as a parish church in a description of the Prague Diocese from 1344 to 1350. The church has been protected as a monument since 7 February 1994.

A reconciliation cross stands on the northern edge of Úlibice. Boží muka u Úlibic, a landscape-defining feature dating from 1767, is also located on this edge of the village. From there, there is a view over part of the Český ráj. Traces of a former fortress can still be seen on the hill near the church.

Nature

Úlibická bažantnice is a nature reserve first designated on 4 July 1956. It is a preserved remnant of a hardwood floodplain forest in the area between Polabí and Podkrkonoší. Úlibická bažantnice lies away from all marked hiking and cycling trails and is not used for recreation or sports.

Landscape in the Surrounding Area

Maxinec (MLázovický chlum) is a mountain in the surroundings of Úlibice. Přivýšina, Tábor and Střelečská hůra are also mountains in this area.

The churches of Valdštejn and Lázně are located in the wider regional surroundings of Úlibice.

Geographical Location

No marked hiking route passes through Úlibice. The roads from Jičín towards Nová Paka or Hořice are named as the easiest access routes.
