Chyjice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Chyjice lies in the valley of the Mrlina, formerly known as the Leština. Its banks border the settlement for a length of up to 2.5 kilometres. The history of the village also includes remarkable religious buildings and monuments whose details reveal different historical periods.

Culture

The Church of Sts Simon and Jude was rebuilt in the Baroque style by F. Spannbrucker between 1698 and 1700. It contains an organ built in 1892 in the workshop of organ builder Josef Kobrle from Lomnice. The church forms part of a protected monument complex with a bell tower and an enclosure wall with a gate.

Next to the church stands the Boží muka wayside shrine from 1779. It consists of a column with a relief of the Virgin Mary and a small chapel with a relief of the crucified Jesus. The Boží muka was restored between 1994 and 1996 and declared a cultural monument in November 2002.

Chyjice is also home to the light sandstone statue of Saint John of Nepomuk, a work of High Baroque sculpture. Its front bears a relief of Saint Charles Borromeo. The statue was declared a cultural monument on 26 November 2002; its restoration was completed in July 2025.

Nature

The Chyjická stráň natural monument lies between Chyjice and Dolany above the Mrlina on a wooded south-west-facing slope. Over the past 20 years, 17 protected bird species and 20 protected plant species have been recorded at Chyjická stráň.

The surroundings of Chyjice include Přivýšina, Střelečská hůra and Tábor. Přivýšina is recorded as a mountain, as are Střelečská hůra and Tábor. In the wider regional area around Chyjice there is also Maxinec (MLázovický chlum), which is likewise recorded as a mountain. Valdštejn lies in the wider regional area and is recorded as a church.

Cycling Route

Frequently used cycling route No. 4368 runs along the edge of Chyjice. It connects sights of local importance, including hillforts and castles.
