Ostružno: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Around 80 specially protected and other significant species have been recorded in the Ostruženské rybníky ponds.

Nature and landscape

The Ostruženské rybníky natural monument is partly located in the cadastral area of Ostružno and is one of the most important resting places for migratory waterbirds in the region. The Svatá Anna natural monument extends into the cadastral area of Ostružno. The hill’s volcanic formation dates back around 17 million years.

The Přivýšina and Střelečská hůra hills are located in the immediate vicinity of Ostružno. Mount Tábor is located near Ostružno. In the wider regional surroundings of Ostružno are Mount Maxinec (MLázovický chlum) and Valdštejn Church.

Culture and history

The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Ostružno is one of the most important and largest late Baroque buildings in the region. A chapel commissioned by Count Šlik around 1670 gave Svatá Anna Hill its name and was part of the planned Baroque landscape design.

Getting around

Regional Route 4079 leads from Jičín to Sobotka and passes through Ostružno. In the terrain, it can be identified by coloured markings between yellow stripes.
