Ubislavice: Apartments and Holiday Homes

In Úbislavice, an important sacred building, historic rural architecture and a diverse surrounding landscape come together. The Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary is an immovable cultural monument. It was originally a Gothic church from the 14th century and was later remodeled in the Baroque style.

Culture and History

Several log houses, as well as numerous statues and crosses, have been preserved in Úbislavice. Grain was milled in the log mill No. 56 near the church from the beginning of the 15th century until 1920. The restored U Jána memorial site includes a newly forged cross, a bench and an information board.

Archaeological traces are also part of the local history: in 1939, three pits containing medieval pottery were reported near houses No. 29 and 31 in Úbislavice. They were interpreted either as a pottery kiln with auxiliary structures or as a heating furnace for iron processing. The wider regional surroundings of Úbislavice also include Lázně Church and Valdštejn Church.

Landscape and Regional Context

Since October 2005, Úbislavice has been part of the Český ráj European Geopark under the auspices of UNESCO. The mountains Tábor, Maxinec (MLázovický chlum), Přivýšina and Střelečská hůra are located in the surroundings of Úbislavice.

Art and Events

The sculpture group “Spolu” stands along the path from the church in Úbislavice to Zboží. It was created in 2015 by students of VŠUP and AVU in Prague. The night-time firefighters’ competition was held for the 16th time at the Úbislavice sports ground on September 6, 2025.
