A route to Královecký Špičák and through the surrounding area can begin in Královec. It can lead back to Bernartice, from where there is a bus connection.

Nature and Trails

Another route to Královecký Špičák branches off from the blue hiking trail in Bernartice and leads along the Traverz Vraních hor cycle path to the mountain slope. At the summit, it includes a viewpoint and a rest area. At 881 m above sea level, Královecký Špičák is the highest peak in the Vraní hory. It is also used by paragliders from the Czech Republic and Poland.

The Lom Královec quarry is located in the Vraní hory. The quarry is an illustrative exposure of Permian rhyolite.

Culture

The Church of Saint John of Nepomuk in Královec was built between 1924 and 1928. It is a Neoclassical-style building with a prismatic tower on the façade, a rectangular nave, and a semicircular apse. The church was consecrated on 5 August 1928 and restored in the mid-1990s.

The history of the village also includes the former Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk. It was consecrated on 22 September 1812 and demolished in 1933 after the new church had been consecrated. A statue of Saint John of Nepomuk dating from 1762 still stands at its original location.

A stone reconciliation cross stands beside the steps leading to the church. A restored statue of Saint John of Nepomuk stands 50 m along the access road to the church in Královec.

Connections

The Žacléř Tourist Railway connects Královec with Žacléř and Lampertice. Selected special trains also run via Bernartice and Trutnov střed to Trutnov.
