Byzhradec: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Chapel of Saints Cyril and Methodius, dating from 1869, stands in Byzhradec. Byzhradec offers an excellent view of the entire Orlické hory ridge; in good visibility, the view also extends to the ridges of the Krkonoše mountains.

Culture

The former school building in Byzhradec was recently renovated and now serves as the municipal office and library. The village retains a historically planned settlement structure of the so-called lánová ves type. In the northern part stands a podstávkový dům, designated as an object of local cultural and historical value. Northeast of Byzhradec, beside road III/29844, there is a stone cross on plot p.p.č. 3278.

The current name Byzhradec has been used since 1922. Shingles used to be made here.

Landscape

The Chobot stream has a landscape-defining function and has been designated for protection as a landscape value. An artificial water reservoir is located in the centre of the built-up area of Byzhradec.

Cycling

The surroundings of Byzhradec are considered particularly suitable for cycling. Marked cycle route 4349 runs through Opočno, Semechnice, Byzhradec, Černíkovice and Rychnov nad Kněžnou. There is a designated rest area at the Boží Muka crossroads; Myslivecká chata is designated as a rest area in Byzhradec. The Podorlická Beer Cycle Route runs from Solnice towards Byzhradec and then along a local asphalt road to Hroška.
