Pchery: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Pchery encompasses a history of settlement documented by archaeological evidence, sacred architecture, and an industrial past. The parish church of St. Stephen has been mentioned in Pchery since 1354. It was expanded into a three-nave church and remodelled in the Baroque style in 1709. On the northern slope above Pchery stands the masonry building with a five-sided presbytery and rectangular sacristy.

Culture

The bell tower of Pchery has a Baroque design dating from the early 18th century and was restored in 1932. Standing prominently on the slope, it forms a distinctive aesthetic element of the municipality.

The fortress remains in Pchery are a partially preserved two-storey stone building with late-Gothic door and window surrounds. The buildings of farm complex No. 7 date from the early 19th century and are arranged around a rectangular courtyard.

Archaeological finds indicate continuous settlement of the cadastral area of Pchery from the Neolithic period through historical times.

The Theodor hard-coal mine in Pchery was built between 1897 and 1902 and operated until 1935. The former Theodor power station is an architecturally high-quality industrial building dating from 1899.

Pchery is situated in a rural landscape that has been settled for a long time historically and was shaped by intensive agriculture and industrial activities, particularly coal mining.

Getting There

Pchery is accessible exclusively by road; because of its proximity to the D7 (I/7), accessibility is considered good. Bus connections from Prague and Kladno via Pchery generally continue towards Slaný.
