Oskořínek: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Oskořínek is considered one of the oldest villages in the Nymburk region. The château and estate of Nový Ronov were built between Oskořínek and Jeseník in 1587. In 1857, the château was converted into a sugar factory; the sugar factory that had emerged from the former Nový Ronov château burned down in 1880.

Culture and History

Oskořínek is home to a Baroque statue of Saint John of Nepomuk from the second half of the 18th century.

According to the historian Sedláček, the name Oskořínek is associated with the oskoruše, a species of rowan. It once grew here frequently in extensive groves.

The first settlement was located in the direction of Nový Dvůr, near the present-day houses Nos. 63 and 65. A fortified manor belonging to a minor nobleman stood there.

A commemorative lime-tree avenue is recorded near Oskořínek.

Route

The “Polabím s nadhledem” route begins at Oskořínek railway station. It is designed as a series of stops with various tasks. In the vicinity of Oskořínek, the route ends at a lookout tower.
