Nebužely is situated in a remarkable landscape setting: the Kokořínský Důl Nature Reserve lists Nebužely as one of its cadastral areas. It comprises a geomorphologically highly varied sandstone complex with predominantly forested habitats, canyon-like valleys, rock terraces, smaller rock towns, as well as weathering formations such as the Pokličky and other features created by the weathering of iron-bearing sandstone.

Culture

The churches and historic buildings of Nebužely also bear distinctive traces of various periods. The Protestant church is an 18th-century church building and was originally the Tolerance House of Worship of a Reformed or Helvetic religious congregation. It was completed in 1786; its tower was added in 1864. Today, the church serves as a depot for the Mělník District Museum.

The Catholic church in Nebužely is a single-nave Baroque rural church building with an irregular cruciform floor plan. Inside is a remarkable marble memorial stone for Anna Hrušková of Březno. A statue of Saint Jasna Nepomuský was erected in front of the church in 1884.

The distinctive historic farmsteads in the village include monumental, representative buildings that, because of their elaborate design, are sometimes also called “selskými paláci” (“peasant palaces”).

The Kroužek water mill probably dates from the 16th century. Around the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, it was converted into a masonry building with a Francis turbine. The former water mill lies directly on a red-marked hiking trail and cycle route 142.

Getting Around

Cycle route 8170 runs from Kroužek via Nebužely and Řepín to Řepínský Důl. It is a moderately difficult route along an asphalt road, suitable for all types of bicycles. From Nebužely, the nearest red-marked hiking trail and cycle route 142 towards Kokořín are approximately 2.5 km away.

Geographical Location

Nebužely has a railway stop and a freight loading area. The municipality lies on railway line 076 between Mladá Boleslav, Mšeno and Mělník.
