Mohelnice Nad Jizerou: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Mohelnice nad Jizerou is a Romanesque gallery church dating from the third quarter of the 12th century.

Culture and Townscape

The hydropower system of Mill No. 3 was installed in 1914. Mill No. 3 is a log house in the town center on the right bank of the Mohelka.

At the former mill site No. 42, there is a clearly visible millrace that is partially cut into the rock; the year 1901 is carved into one of the rocks. The village also has a statue of Christ on an ornately decorated pedestal dating from 1884. The vernacular architecture houses bearing numbers 5, 6, 8, and 11 have preserved their original character to this day.

Hiking and Water

The “Na vrch Káčov přes Zásadku a Mohelnici” hike is 14 km long, takes about 4 hours, and has an elevation gain of 190 meters. It is considered a moderately difficult route with a steep ascent. The “Přes Zásadku do Mohelnice” tourist route ends in the municipality of Mohelnice nad Jizerou.

A river trip on the Jizera can be ended at the bridge in Mohelnice nad Jizerou. A stone bridge over the Mohelka was built in 1926. The concrete arch bridge over the Jizera near Mohelnice was built in 1930–1931.

Landscape

The distinctive, wooded volcanic hill of Káčov lies in the regional surroundings of Mohelnice nad Jizerou. It is 350 meters high and offers views of Ještěd, Kozákov, Mužský, and the Krkonoše Mountains.
