In Močovice, you can visit the Classicist Chapel of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary. It was built in 1831 and is considered an important cultural monument.
Culture and History
The Chapel of the Virgin Mary is a masonry building with a rectangular floor plan, a semicircular chancel and a masonry gable above the entrance. A statue of Saint John of Nepomuk stands in the niche of the gable.
Several archaeological sites are located in the built-up area of Močovice. The archaeological area encompasses periods ranging from prehistory through the Middle Ages to the modern era, including the Early Middle Ages and the transition from the Early to the High Middle Ages.
The local history also includes the Sokolovna, which was ceremonially opened on 29 July 1923. Its gable still bears the Sokol emblem with outstretched wings and the Hradčany emblem.
Landscape and Surroundings
Močovice lies in the valley of the Klejnárka stream. The stream forms the landscape axis of the area; its surroundings contain extensive floodplain soils as well as loess and loess loam.
The valley, floodplain soils, loess and loess loam describe different landscape contexts that you can classify separately when making your personal plans.
The Zadní kupa hill [Církvice-Jakub] lies in the immediate surroundings of Močovice. Kačina Castle is located in the vicinity of the village.
The Krkanka mountain lies in the wider regional surroundings of Močovice. The Hořánck mountain is also located in this wider regional area. The Ostojovka mountain [Ledeč nad Sázavou-Souboř] likewise lies in the wider regional surroundings. The Church of Saint George is also located in this wider regional area.
The distinction between the immediate surroundings, the vicinity and the wider regional area allows for a clear spatial classification of the destinations mentioned.
Sports and Events
At the sports complex by the Klejnárka, the grass football pitch meets the dimensional requirements for football competitions.
A traditional small-sided football tournament was planned for Močovice. The 42nd edition included competitions for schoolchildren on Friday, 26 June, from 3:30 p.m., and for men on Saturday, 27 June, from 10 a.m.
A tournament in nohejbal, described as traditional, was scheduled in Močovice for Saturday, 15 August, from 9 a.m. on the sand court behind the Sokolovna.
The sports information mentions both the condition of the football pitch and specific tournament dates; for your own planning, facilities and dates can be considered separately.
The accommodation details stand alongside the cultural, landscape and sporting aspects of the village. When booking a holiday apartment, travel dates, room category and cancellation conditions can be considered as separate offer details.
