Koleč: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Koleč can be explored through its historic sites and their distinctive details – from Zámek Koleč and its church interior to the history of beekeeping and a restored small monument.

Since 31 July 2016, the Muzeum včelařství has been open to the public in a reconstructed wing of Zámek Koleč. It is located in the west wing of Zámek Koleč. The history of the building also includes the Kostel Nejsvětější Trojice, which was added to the south wing of Zámek Koleč in 1711–1713.

The castle church hosts, among other events, the Medová pouť, concerts and midnight masses. The historical music collection associated with the Kostel Nejsvětější Trojice consists of approximately two-thirds handwritten musical sources dating from the second half of the 18th century to the beginning of the 20th century.

The history of beekeeping is also directly connected with Koleč: as early as 1879, the Švarc family founded a factory for beehives and beekeeping supplies directly in Koleč.

History

In Týnec u Kolče, the Boží muka stand to the right beside the road leading from Zákolany via Mozolín to Týnec. The Boží muka are a three-tiered wayside shrine with shallow niches containing saints’ images painted on tin. In 2009, they were restored as a cultural monument at a cost of CZK 254,000.

Geographical Location

Zámek Koleč is at most a five-minute walk from Koleč railway station. The surroundings of Studánka Svatého Václava have a distinctly different local character: they are heavily waterlogged, and wellington boots are required for access.
