Katusice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In Katusice, history stretches from the medieval parish church to archaeological traces of the La Tène period; at the same time, the area offers views of the distinctive elevations of the Podbezdězí landscape.

Culture and History

The parish church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is part of the local history. It was already standing in Katusice in 1352. Its present appearance dates from 1853, after it was rebuilt following a fire. The village green park is also home to a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk from 1727.

A protected example of rural architecture is Farmstead No. 12 in Katusice, which has been a protected cultural monument since 1995. The rural farmstead is also the birthplace of Jan Nepomuk Krouský. The archaeological site of Cihelna Krouského reaches even further back in time and includes a cemetery and a settlement from the La Tène period.

Landscape

Katusice is located in the Podbezdězí landscape. From Katusice, there are views of Bezděz Castle and Vrátenská Hora. In clear weather, the view from Katusice extends as far as Ještěd.

Cycling

The Tour de Katusice 2022 started on 4 June in front of the Katusice Cultural Centre. In 2022, the adult route of this tour was 55 km long.

The Husův kámen memorial stone is located in the vicinity of Katusice, by a spring in Dolce; it can be reached from Katusice via a forest path.
