Jenštejn: Holiday Apartments and Houses

In the center of the present-day municipality of Jenštejn, the ruins of Jenštejn Castle stand on a rocky promontory. Jenštejn Castle is a cultural monument of medieval architecture. Its surviving landmark is a 22-meter-high round tower.

Culture

Jenštejn Castle was first mentioned in historical records in 1341. It was built as a water castle and protected on the southern side by a pond and on the other sides by a circular moat carved into the rock. A well-preserved Gothic chapel occupies the second floor of the round tower of Jenštejn Castle.

Cycling Routes

The 4.6-kilometer children's cycling route “Dětská trasa – výuková” is suitable for learning to ride a bicycle. The 8.2-kilometer children's cycling route “Dětská trasa – jednoduchá” is mostly flat. The 11.2-kilometer children's cycling route “Dětská trasa – pokročilá” runs approximately 70 percent along field and forest paths.

Hiking

The “Vinoř–Jenštejn” educational trail leads through the valley of the Vinořský stream, through Jenštejn, and to Jenštejn Castle. It has five stations featuring environmental attractions, is just under 3 kilometers long, and is marked throughout with red hiking signs.

Leisure

A smartphone app is available for keeping score at the minigolf course in Jenštejn. Club and ball rental is available.
