Near Husinec lies the Větrušické rokle National Nature Reserve, with protected rock and dry grassland ecosystems, heathlands, and thermophilous oak forests. Behind the ÚJV complex, rocky slopes rise 90 to 100 metres above the level of the Vltava; their diverse mosaic structure includes rocky steppes.

Nature

The landscape around Husinec includes the Řež meander, formed by the Vltava. On the slope above Husinec, there is a very well-preserved population of Czech star-of-Bethlehem; the bare rocks are also home to rock alyssum and mountain alyssum.

U Pasáčka Park offers views of the opposite bank and the flowing Vltava. The park also contains a supraregional biocentre.

Culture

The exhibition at the “ÚJV Řež Nuclear Museum” includes historical instruments and equipment used in materials research, facilities from the development of radiopharmaceuticals, and an extensive collection of dosimeters. It also includes historical curiosities such as radioactive tableware, radioactive toothpaste, and domestic radon baths.

The “Prof. Čestmír Šimáně Educational Trail” provides information about the history of the research institute, its founder, and the municipality of Husinec. At the same time, the “Prof. Čestmír Šimáně Educational Trail” opens part of the previously fenced-off natural area to the public and forms part of the network of educational trails around the research institute.

The “Chapel of St. Wenceslas” is an important site in the municipality and commemorates the end of the war and peace.

Paths and Orientation

The “Husinec–Řež” ferry landing is at the end of V Luhu Street. The ferry staff assist with transporting bicycles, prams, and people with reduced mobility. The Husinec-Řež municipal map shows a recreation zone with sports facilities.

Near Husinec-Řež, the “Údolím Vltavy School Educational Trail” runs through a short section of the Vltava Valley and follows the bank of the Vltava along a rock-lined path.
