The cycle corridor through Turke follows the upper Kupa Valley, a biologically rich area described as the “Butterfly Valley” because it is home to more than 100 species of diurnal butterflies. Rapids and river beaches offer opportunities for swimming. Fishing spots are located near Turke.
Geographical Setting
A state road route designated by the town of Delnice runs through Parg, Čabar, Hrvatsko, Turke, Gašparci and Brod na Kupi. The Turke–Grintovec Bridge was reopened after restoration.
Culture and Tradition
Turke is home to the parish church of the Holy Cross; it is the parish church of Turke within the town of Delnice. The present parish church was commemorated as being 130 years old in 2025.
The parish festival “Našašće Svetog Križa” in Turke marked the completion of the first phase of the restoration of the parish church in 2020. Pilgrims from several other parishes took part.
The traditional Jakovska Sunday event has been celebrated in Turke for generations. It includes the blessing of vehicles.
