Muntrilj: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Muntrilj is situated on a limestone plateau characterised by numerous karst depressions. Traditional agriculture includes viticulture, cereal cultivation and, to some extent, livestock farming.

Landscape

Trail Montreo is a circular hiking trail that begins in Duhići and continues towards Muntrilj. Trail Montreo provides access to the Sopajac sinkhole, which is also called Veliki dol. The Badavca spring is an attraction accessible via Trail Montreo.

Trails

The Duhići–Karojba–Duhići cycle route (620) is 22 km long and classified as moderately difficult. It is listed with an elevation gain of 270 m and a duration of two hours; Muntrilj is noted as an alternative starting point. The route passes the Pajićka Pond. Glogovac Peak and the Church of Saint Andrew are among its attractions. Route 620 also passes the cemetery towards the Church of Saint Roch near Muntrilj.

Culture

On the western edge of Muntrilj is the 17th-century cemetery chapel of Saint Roch with a free-standing bell tower.

Vina Paljuh is a family business in the village of Muntrilj and a producer of wine and spirits. The business has been producing wines and spirits for three generations.

Traditions

In 2006, Tinjan declared itself the Municipality of Istrian Prosciutto. In the wider Tinjan area, the traditional Šimunja celebration includes an exhibition of kosirs and other forged products.

A municipal publication from 2014 reported that BK Štandar-Muntrilj organised the traditional Rokova bocce tournament on 5 August.
