Žužići: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

West of Žužići, Žužići-Brig is recorded as a pre-Illyrian Bronze Age burial mound. In the village center, visitors can taste and buy honey from the Radovan family. It is also possible to arrange a visit to the family's beehive in a small forest near Žužići.

Trails and Nature

The “Hidden Paths of Tinjan” quad tour starts in Žužići near Tinjan and covers approximately 30 to 35 kilometers through dirt roads, gravel paths, and forests. The “Let's Go to the Sea” quad tour also starts in Žužići near Tinjan; it includes a stop at the ruins of Dvigrad.

There is also the easy, 26-kilometer cycling route “Od lokve do lokve (615),” which starts and ends in Tinjan. The route connects Tinjan's restored old ponds; each pond has a rest point for cyclists.

The “Drystone Walls” hiking trail runs for 12.7 kilometers between Tinjan and Kringa, is classified as moderate, and takes three hours. The “Drystone Walls Trail” connects Kringa and Tinjan mainly via field and gravel roads, supplemented by some single trails and paved sections.

A 12-kilometer circular route follows forest and gravel roads along Žužići, Banki, and Milohanići. Hikers can see domesticated animals on this route.

Culture

In Tinjan, the Enriko Depiera Native Collection comprises around 5,000 ethnographic, archival, and cultural-historical objects. The Church of Saint Simon and Saint Jude Thaddeus dates from the 18th century and is considered a late Baroque example in Istria. Its detached bell tower was built in 1762 and is 28 meters high.

Tinjan is associated with dry-stone walls, ponds, traditional blacksmithing, and Istrian prosciutto. The municipality has declared itself the Municipality of Istrian Prosciutto and traditionally holds an exhibition of Istrian blacksmith products at Šimunja.

Cuisine

Tinjan traditionally organizes the international ISAP Prosciutto Fair, featuring sporting, cultural, traditional, and gastronomic events.
