Culture and History

The village landscape includes traditional stone houses with stables, elevated water cisterns with round necks, and gardens within the house plots. The name Kaldanija derives from the noble Petronio Caldana family, which owned the area from the 16th to the 19th century.

The former Parenzana stop in Kaldanija had only a station name sign and a lamppost; today, no traces of the stop are visible there. Lovac is listed at the address Kaldanija 31.

Geographical Location

Kaldanija is located on the national road between Buje and the Plovanija border crossing, 1 km south of the Savudrija–Kaštel intersection.
