The official cycling route “Medieval Towns and Momjan Wine Roads” passes through Marušići. A section of the Parenzana connects Buje, Kremenje, Momjan, Črnci, Marušići, Sv. Florijan and Triban; the part running through Marušići follows the historic route known as the “Wine Railway”.

Those who choose Marušići for their stay would like to rent a holiday apartment there.

Culture and History

Marušići developed between the 16th and 18th centuries, while an older medieval settlement lies farther north. Next to the cultural centre is the Forma Viva sculpture park, with around forty sculptures created in a karst landscape as part of the international Kornarija Summer Sculpture School.

The Romanesque Chapel of Saint Lucia near Marušići was remodelled in 1781. A short uphill road leads from Forma Viva Park towards Sorbar; there, visitors can see two medieval chapels, including the Chapel of Saint Lucia in the cemetery, with an altarpiece by F. Quajati from the 19th century.

The Pišćaci i gunjci programme combines performances by traditional music groups with the tavolac dance, a folklore workshop and an exhibition.

Cuisine and Festivals

The recurring Luganigada festival celebrates local sausages. Luganigada includes Kroštulada, a competition to prepare homemade Kroštule. A Luganigada programme also included a recreational cycling tour and a walking excursion, both of which started in Marušići.

Prvomajska Tripada is an international gastronomy competition for preparing Tripice in Marušići. At Tripada, visitors could sample Tripice prepared in various ways after the cooking competition.

The selection can be extended to include further places: Sveta Marija Na Krasu, Gamboci, Krasica, Kanegra, Kaštel, Momjan, Plovanija, Buje.
