Holiday apartment in Čardaci – between Rostovo, Kalin and Babići

Čardaci combines winter sports, mountain scenery and rural cultural heritage. Rostovo brings together the winter sports facilities, Kalin represents the marked hiking route, and Babići combines rural cultural heritage with activities and accommodation. The individual offerings range from the illuminated ski centre and a marked forest path to traditional wooden houses.

Rostovo for winter sports

Rostovo Ski Centre is located at an altitude of 1,160 metres. The ski slopes in Rostovo have a grass base and are equipped with a snowmaking system. Floodlights enable night skiing there, thus also incorporating the evening hours into winter sports planning. Two Sidro-type drag lifts serve the centre; they are 500 and 900 metres long, respectively. As drag lifts, the two facilities pull winter sports enthusiasts uphill along the slope. Ski equipment can be rented at Rostovo Ski Centre. The Babići Ethno Village and the accommodation in Rostovo each have a ski equipment shop, and both places also offer a ski school. There is a café-bar at the foot of the ski lifts. The ski slope in Rostovo is 100 metres from the accommodation there.

Hiking route and summit on Kalin

The Rostovo–Kalin hiking route is classified as moderately difficult. A marked hiking trail to the summit of Kalin begins at the accommodation in Rostovo. The hiking trail leads through deciduous and coniferous forests as well as birch groves. The highest summit of Kalin reaches 1,530 metres above sea level. The Orlovina summit of Kalin offers views of the Vranica massif. There is also a spring at the foot of the Kalin summit. The hike therefore combines forest sections with summit altitude, views and another distinctive point on the mountain.

Ethnographic sites in Rostovo and Babići

Rostovo has a small ethnographic exhibition featuring old houses, carriages and tools. The rural cultural heritage in the Babići Ethno Village includes blacksmiths' workshops, stables, granaries and domestic animals.
