Discover Teslić: Holiday Apartment, Usora and Thermomineral Water

Teslić lies in the Usora valley on the road between Doboj and Banja Luka. The town combines this clear geographical location with thermomineral water, riverside landscapes, historic religious buildings, paths through forests and parks, as well as regional specialities.

Wellness

At the “Kardial” Hotel in Banja Vrućica, indoor and outdoor pools with thermomineral water, as well as saunas and massages, are available.

Nature and Water

The Usora flows through Teslić and is known there locally as Velika Usora. Below the town, at the place called Sastavci, it meets its considerably smaller left tributary, Mala Usora. From its source below the summit of Očauš in the Borja mountain range to its mouth above Doboj, the Usora is 82 km long.

Škobalj, klen, plotica, štuka and bjelica are found in the Usora; trout are also found in its upper course. The river is therefore not only a defining waterway in the town, but also features different sections along its course.

Paths and Activities

Teslić has a 2,500 m-long path through a pine forest for walking, running and cycling. There are also landscaped parks and walking paths with a total length of 7 km. Those who would like to use a recorded route can find the “Track around Teslić” route as a GPS track with a free map. Teslić also has a ski slope.

Culture and History

Liplje Monastery is a medieval Serbian Orthodox monastery on the northern side of Mount Borja. It is located 25 km from Teslić and was first mentioned in the second half of the 15th century. Visitors can stay overnight in the konak of Liplje Monastery.

The wooden church in Vrućica, dedicated to the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God, was reconstructed on the site of an earlier church dating from 1642. It preserves the four-century-old doors of the first church; they have a 370-year-old lock that still works today.

Regional Cuisine

Cicvara is a traditional dish from Teslić. To prepare it, Blatnica cheese, butter and sometimes sour cream are stirred into boiling water. Geographically protected local cheese products are part of the tourist offering in the municipality of Teslić.

Underground Nature

The cave interior features stalactites, stalagmites, flowstone curtains and tuff pools. The walls display patterns known as “Tiger Skin”, formed by lime deposits and mineral melts. In one cave, 450 m of an illuminated path has been set up for tourist visits.

When comparing a holiday apartment in Teslić, it is worth looking at the exact location, the type of accommodation and the occupancy. Also check the included services, price components, as well as the booking and cancellation conditions. It is important that the occupancy is stated clearly and that cost components and conditions are clearly separated from one another. For the included services, what matters is which components are explicitly mentioned and whether additional conditions are explained in the same section.
