Discover beaches and culture in São Lourenço do Sul
Accommodation in São Lourenço do Sul
São Lourenço do Sul offers several distinct reasons to visit: beaches with varying water and shoreline conditions, historic architecture, and cultural experiences and local traditions throughout the municipality. Some activities require an appointment in advance.
Beaches with different features
Praia da Barrinha is the longest beach in São Lourenço do Sul. Its shallow water and good conditions for water sports such as windsurfing and kitesurfing give this beach an active feel.
At Praia das Ondinas, also called Praia das Mães, the water is shallow and calm. It is the most densely vegetated stretch of the waterfront; plane trees provide shade there.
Praia das Nereidas, also called Praia do Hotel, has palm trees and fig trees along its waterfront. It is used for sunbathing and sports on the shore of the lagoon.
When choosing a beach, the main differences are clear: water sports at Barrinha, calm, shallow water and plane-tree shade at Ondinas, or sunbathing and sports on the lagoon shore at Nereidas.

The Museu Histórico de São Lourenço do Sul is located in the Casa de Cultura. The building was erected in 1919 by German immigrants and retains its original architecture; the museum displays around 300 exhibits.

In Coxilha do Barão – Picada Moinhos in the municipality of São Lourenço do Sul, the Casa da Imigração Jacob Rheingantz was built around 1860. This site adds another historic building to the architectural history of the municipality.
