Everett: Art, Water and Special Family Experiences
Accommodation in Everett
Everett combines expansive park landscapes with art, industrial history, water experiences and unusual insights into aircraft production. This gives you different focuses for planning your trip: You can organize a stay around nature and trails, discover cultural sites or plan active experiences with children. When choosing a vacation rental, it is worth first deciding which of these aspects should shape your days.
Park Landscapes and Trails by the Water
With nearly 1,000 acres of parkland, Everett offers plenty of space for walks and observing nature. At Grand Ave Park, an ADA-compliant accessible pedestrian bridge leads to the waterfront; it can be reached on foot or by bicycle. Those who enjoy spending time outdoors can include this location as a specific part of their daily plans.
Silver Lake offers further opportunities for an active break. Hauge Homestead Park has two docks where small, non-motorized watercraft can be launched from the shore. The trail there connects to the Silver Lake Loop Trail and continues to Green Lantern Park. The Green Lantern Park Trail runs along the east side of Silver Lake. Information boards there point out wildlife that is frequently observed.
South Everett Forest Preserve has a different character: The 15-acre, wooded wilderness area lies in the densely populated south of Everett. This allows you to include different nature experiences in your trip planning without combining them into one uniform outing. Those who want to focus clearly on forest, lake or waterfront can choose their accommodation according to their preferred daily itinerary.
Art, History and Everett’s Industrial Side
The Van Valey House tells the story of the house and the Van Valey and Morrow families who lived there. At Senator Henry M. Jackson Park, interpretive exhibits provide information about outdoor recreation, the environment and the legacy of Henry M. Jackson. At the Historic Everett Waterfront, an interpretive program also honors the legacy of the timber and shingle industry, commercial fishing and boatbuilding along the waterfront between 18th Street to the south and 10th Street at West Marine View Drive.
Individual buildings also make this historical background tangible. The Weyerhaeuser Office Building on the Everett Waterfront was built in 1923 at the company’s first Everett plant and features elaborate Gothic Revival architecture. Art enthusiasts can take part in hands-on art activities at the Schack Art Center, inspired by the exhibitions in its galleries. The Gallery Store also offers a curated selection of handmade works by more than 200 regional artists, including ceramics, glass, jewelry and prints.
Special Experiences for Different Types of Travel Days
The Boeing Everett Factory Tour offers a behind-the-scenes look at the Boeing Everett Factory and the assembly line for the 777 and 777X. The guided experience lasts 80 minutes and provides insights into current aircraft production from the factory gallery. Participants must be at least 4 feet, or 48 inches or 122 cm, tall. You should take this requirement into account early when planning a trip with children.
For a family day, Imagine Children’s Museum offers areas for active play, role-playing, makerspaces, water play, building activities, early learning and seasonal experiences across three floors and a rooftop. Rooftop access is weather-dependent and may not be available during your visit. This means the museum remains a versatile activity even when conditions change, while the rooftop area should deliberately be planned as a weather-dependent option.
Sports and events take place at Angel of the Winds Arena. It is the home venue of the Everett Silvertips Hockey Club. When the “Tips” are not playing there, the arena frequently hosts other sporting events such as motocross, gymnastics and curling, as well as concerts and performances.
Jetty Island and the Seasonal Water Perspective
Jetty Island is a two-mile-long, man-made island and serves as a breakwater for the Port of Everett marina. The water at the shallow beach is comparatively warm because it is shallow there. Between July 8 and September 6, 2026, a seasonal ferry transported beachgoers from the Port of Everett to Jetty Island. This period is part of the 2026 season and should therefore be regarded as a time-limited offering.
The Restoration Center and Reserve Collection is currently closed. For planning your accommodation, you can instead focus on the travel themes described above: nature and water, art and history, aircraft production, sports or a varied program with children.
