At the Blue Bell Museum, visitors can take a self-guided tour through more than 100 years of company history. The Blue Bell Ice Cream Parlor serves scoops of Blue Bell Ice Cream. For an additional excursion, Bluebonnet Pottery is located at Lake Somerville, 9 miles northwest of Brenham; there, visitors can watch demonstrations of handmade pottery production and take pottery classes on site.
Gardens, Lavender and Chappell Hill
Those who enjoy discovering landscapes and designed outdoor spaces while on vacation will find an eight-acre nursery and display gardens at the Antique Rose Emporium in Independence. Chappell Hill Lavender Farm covers 23 rolling acres, with lavender grown on three to four acres. In Chappell Hill, the official Bluebonnet Festival of the State of Texas also takes place annually in the historic downtown. The Chappell Hill Historical Society Museum is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
