Timberon Golf Course is located in the center of Timberon. It is a 9-hole golf course at an elevation of 7,150 feet. Timberon also has two fishing ponds maintained by the Timberon Water and Sanitation District for the Timberon community. A New Mexico fishing license is required to fish at these ponds. One of the fishing ponds is located near the driving range and borders the horseshoe pits. These are located behind the High Country Bar and Grill at the golf course next to the ninth green. A flintknapping course took place in Timberon; another event was already being prepared, and the available places filled quickly. Practical Information for Your Stay

The Timberon Community Pool is closed during the 2026 season. If you are planning your trip for this period, you should therefore not consider the swimming pool an available day-trip destination. Timberon Lodge has a playground area that can be considered a separate point of reference when planning with children. Street maps of Timberon are available at the TDC Welcome Center. For getting there, it is also relevant that the road from Cloudcroft via the Sunspot Scenic Byway to Timberon is fully paved.
