Culture

Mangskog Church was completed in 1813. In its floor plan and exterior design, it is typical of church architecture at the beginning of the 19th century. The altarpiece of Mangskog Church was created by the sculptor Isac Schullström and was acquired for the church in 1757.

Another historic stop is the local heritage farm Mangskogs Hembygdsgård Neragata. It has had its present appearance since 1783. Many of the inventory items at the heritage farm come from the house of Nils Keyland in Bjurbäcken.

From Mangskog Cemetery, there is a view of Lake Mangen. The grounds are characterised by open lawns with hedges that create distinct spaces. Mangskog Cemetery is said to have been put into use as early as 1706.

Hiking

The Finnleden Östra hiking trail is 19 km long and runs through varied terrain on cart roads and paths in the forests north of Mangskog Church. It passes old remains of Finnish settler farms.

The Finnleden Västra hiking trail is a 15 km circular route starting at, and with parking by, Storperstorpet. The trail is varied and hilly. Access points are available at Porna and at the Neragata heritage farm in Slobyn.

At the recommended starting point for the Finnleden Östra hiking trail by Mangskog Church, there is a car park and an information board. Bus route 113 from Arvika to Mangskog also runs there.
