Helsingborg combines paths through natural areas with historic buildings and museums. Beaches and islands can be found in the vicinity, the surrounding area or the wider regional area of Helsingborg socken. Between the Landborg promenades, the Råån valley and the city's cultural sites, a diverse picture emerges: walks and longer promenades meet royal heritage, maritime history and regular events.

Culture

Distinctive buildings in the vicinity of Helsingborg socken include Kronborg, a castle, Sofiero, a palace, and Marienlyst Castle, also a palace. Gustav Adolf is a church in the immediate vicinity of Helsingborg socken. Sofiero welcomes tens of thousands of visitors every year, who enjoy the park and the royal heritage there. Fredriksdal covers 360,000 square metres with distinctive landscapes, buildings and gardens. These tell the story of the natural and cultural history of Schleswig. Another distinctive building is Kärnan: The structure comprises a residential tower approximately 35 metres high and a connected five-sided stair tower.

In Råå, the Råå museum för fiske och sjöfart is dedicated to local history. The museum was founded in 1933; its starting point was a collection of numerous photographs and biographies of former residents of Råå. A boat hall also houses Kurt Björklund's round-the-world sailing ship, “Golden Lady”.

Nature

The Råån valley nature reserve extends through the Helsingborg area approximately five kilometres inland from Råå in southern Helsingborg to Gantofta. In the valley, you can walk along paths beside the river and fish for trout. Rausrundan is a 5.3-kilometre circular promenade between the Råån valley and the Ättekulla nature reserve in the Helsingborg area.

The Landborg promenades offer green spaces and beautiful views over Helsingborg and the Öresund. Kullaleden is part of Skåneleden and offers extensive views, charming fishing villages, nature experiences and culture. In the Pålsjö skog nature reserve, a network of paths leads between old beech, oak and alder trees. Tropikariet presents exotic land and aquatic animals.

Water

Several coastal destinations are also located in the wider regional area of Helsingborg socken: Nivå Strand is a beach, as is Havsbadens strandbad. Gråen is an island there. Ven is an island in the vicinity of Helsingborg socken. These different geographical relationships thus range from the immediate vicinity to the wider regional area.

Kallis is a cold-bath house in Helsingborg and an established meeting place for sauna and sea bathing all year round. Its origins date back to 1865; Kallis is one of Helsingborg's oldest cold-bath houses. Råå hamnplan is a small beach with rounded stones south of the Rååbaden cold-bath house in the Helsingborg area. Öresundslinjen boats cross the Sound in the Helsingborg area every twenty minutes.
