Titaguas: Culture, Nature and Trails in Alto Turia

Culture

The Mojiganga de Titaguas has been classified as an item of intangible cultural heritage of cultural interest. The Mojiganga de Titaguas is scheduled for the Fiestas Gordas every seven years. It is considered a combination of a religious and a secular component. The secular component represents agricultural activities from the region.

In the heart of Titaguas stands the Iglesia Parroquial de El Salvador, a 16th-century church. In the historic center, the Fuente Vieja and the Fuente del Moral, both dating from the 17th century, are integrated into the landscape.

Trails

The La Lámpara via ferrata route is located in the Mirador de la Loma mountain massif at Pico de la Lámpara. It is 1.3 kilometers long in total, of which 300 meters are via ferrata; its difficulty level is K3.

Titaguas has a two-kilometer Ruta Natural that begins in the town center and leads to the monument to Simón de Rojas Clemente. The Senda Los Felipes runs between Titaguas and Tuéjar and is officially classified as PR-CV 455; its full name is Sendero de Titaguas a los Felipes – la Hoz Cerrada.

The Senda Los Felipes passes former gypsum kilns, Aljezares, viewpoints, the ruins of a mill, abandoned hamlets, gorges and plant-rich paths. The Ruta Urbana, signposted with information panels, leads through the town's notable streets and sights.
