Rafelcofer can be discovered through its architectural history, archaeological evidence, hilltop trails and local festive cuisine. Along the way, you will encounter both individual historic sites and traditions tied to specific dates in the annual calendar.
For further ideas for places to visit, you can also include Camp de Túria, Alcàntera De Xúquer, Puçol, Vilamarxant, Bellreguard, Piles, Paterna and Godelleta .
Culture and Townscape
The parish church of “San Antonio de Padua y San Diego de Alcalá” appears in its present form in the neoclassical style. Its origins date back to the 16th century. Inside, carved wooden altarpieces add another example of craftsmanship to the church interior.
The Calle Mayor is another distinctive feature. It preserves a 17th-century street layout characterised by narrowings and curves. It is also lined with modernist and eclectic façades featuring ornamental ironwork. Calle Xiquet is home to a religious ceramic panel that once formed part of an old Stations of the Cross.
Archaeology
El Rabat, also known as Montaña de la Cruz, is an archaeological site associated with an Iberian settlement from the 5th century BC. Its links therefore reach back to a considerably earlier period than the town’s surviving buildings and streets.
Rafelcofer Town Hall manages a collection of Iberian and Roman remains found in the surrounding area. The archaeological collection can be visited by prior appointment.
Trails and Landscape
The hiking route through the El Rabat and San Miguel hills is considered easy and suitable for everyone. It offers views of La Safor. Another hiking route, the Anillo de la Taifa de Valencia, passes through Rafelcofer.
The two routes have different focuses: one connects the El Rabat and San Miguel hills, with a stated difficulty level and views of La Safor, while the other places Rafelcofer on a named hiking trail. These differences can help you weigh the available themes according to your own schedule.

The San Diego festivities take place on the third weekend in August and include a traditional bicycle ride for the local population through the municipality of Rafelcofer.
