Torrenostra lies at a special meeting point: Playa Torrenostra in Torreblanca marks the northern boundary of El Prat de Cabanes-Torreblanca Nature Park and makes it possible to combine a day at the beach with activities focused on discovering nature. Here, the coast and protected area provide the starting point for a trip that can focus equally on historical traces, information about nature and physical activity.

Coast and nature

Playa Torrenostra is an urban beach with plenty of space and calm waters. Facilities for visitors include accessible access, a children's playground, information about sea conditions and a Red Cross station. The Torre de Guaita watchtower stands directly on the beach. The open beach area, specific facilities and historic structure can be considered separately when planning the day.

History and tradition

The Torre de Guaita is classified as a Bien de Interés Cultural (BIC). Its square floor plan measures 8.70 metres on each side, the tower is 9 metres high and it was completely restored in 2007. Its history dates back to the 17th century, when it served to protect the town from invasions. The dimensions give the structure a tangible form, while its former protective function identifies its historical purpose.

Another cultural dimension is represented by the Virgen del Carmen celebration. It has been announced for 2026 and honours the patron saint of sailors. The programme includes a procession at 19:00, departing from the Club Náutico, followed at 20:00 by a mass in honour of the Mare de Déu del Carmen at the parish church of Torrenostra. The time, starting point and church service clearly structure the event.

Nature park and routes

Espai Natura in Torrenostra is the interpretation centre of El Prat de Cabanes-Torreblanca Nature Park and provides visitors to the protected area with personalised information. Espai Natura also features an exhibition about the formation of El Prat and its great diversity of flora and fauna. Here, the nature park takes on an explanatory dimension: not only the landscape itself, but also its formation and its animal and plant life become topics of interest.

Route 3 in the nature park is known as the Torrenostra Route and is a 4.5 km circular route open to the public. The different formats can be organised according to the type of activity and the desired length. In addition, the Capicorp y el Campàs BTT route is connected to the Torrenostra reception point; it is classified as very easy and is 13.36 km long.
